Port Style Wines- We Now Have Three
Pork Tenderloin Medallions with Portamento/Cherry Sauce
Elk Island Winery in Goochland, Virginia now has three port style wines for you to enjoy.
Our Red Port Style wine, Portamento, is made from Norton grapes.
Our Rose Port Style wine is made from Cabernet Franc grapes.
Our White Port Style is made with Chardonnay grapes.
All of the wines have been fortified with brandy distilled for us at Reservoir Distillery in Richmond, Virginia using our Norton wine and have an alcohol content of 19%.
Some of the brandy and wine has been aged in Bourbon barrels.
Our Portamento is a deep red color, and is a smooth rich velvety wine with notes of plum, black cherry and berries. Excellent paired with dark chocolate or dates stuffed with Blue Cheese and of course a cigar.
Our Rose port style wine has hints of strawberry and honey. Try it chilled over ice with a slice of orange or lemon and a splash of soda or tonic water for a
refreshing summer sipper.
Our White port style wine is a decadent and delightful wine with hints of honey, bourbon and pineapple. It is the glass that will make you linger and smile, maybe even swoon.
